Step 1: Open Network and Sharing Center
- Right-click the network icon in the taskbar and select Open Network and Sharing Center.
- Make sure you are connected to the internet.
Step 2: View active network connection properties
- Find your active network connection, be it Wi-Fi or LAN, and right-click on it.
- Select “Properties” from the context menu.
Step 3: Edit DNS settings
- In the network connection properties, find the entry for “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)” and select it.
- Click the “Properties” button.
Step 4: Change DNS server address
- Select the “Use the following DNS server addresses” option.
- Enter the address “8.8.8.8” as the preferred DNS server. (IPv4)
- Enter the address “8.8.4.4” as the alternative DNS server. (IPv4)
- Click on OK to save the changes.
Step 5: Edit IPv6 address settings
- In the network connection properties, find the entry for “Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)” and select it.
- Click the “Properties” button.
Step 6: Change DNS server address for IPv6
- Select the “Use the following DNS server addresses” option.
- Enter the address “2001:4860:4860::8888” as the preferred DNS server.
- Enter the address “2001:4860:4860::8844” as the alternative DNS server.
- Click on OK to save the changes.
Step 7: Restart
- Restart your computer to ensure the DNS changes take effect.
Step 8: Test SaltyChat in FiveM
- Start FiveM and connect to the desired server.
- Check if the issue is resolved and you can now easily switch between channels in SaltyChat.
