3 Tips That 90% Ignores
The biggest mistake? Simply joining the first server you find. Imagine ending up in a hardcore mafia RP - even though you'd rather play a baker in a small town. facepalm. Here's how to avoid it:
Check the server rules like a pro: Whitelist requirement? Realism level? Allowed mods?
Lurke in Discord the community. Look at how people interact – is the mood toxic or supportive?
Start with “Newbie-Friendly” servers. Nobody wants to be laughed at in the first game because they use /e incorrectly.
FAQs: What everyone wants to know about GTA RP servers (but never asks)
“Do I need a high-end PC?”
No. Most FiveM servers run on mid-level hardware. More importantly: a stable internet connection.
“What is the difference between whitelist and public servers?”
Whitelist = Application required, but higher RP quality. Public = Easy to join, but more chaos.
“Does it cost money?”
Most servers are free. Some offer VIP features in exchange for donations – but never pay-to-win.
“What if I’m not an actor?”
RP is not an Oscar competition. Start small: taxi driver, bartender, mechanic. The story will come by itself.
How to use the current FiveM server list
The canonical server directory now lives at five-rp.de/server. Use it to compare active GTA RP communities by language, playstyle, whitelist status, player activity and Discord availability. This English page keeps the international search intent, while the live list contains the current server data.
Whitelist vs public servers
Whitelist servers usually require an application and rule check before joining. They are better for strict roleplay, police/medical jobs and long-term character stories. Public servers are faster to join and useful for testing FiveM, but quality can vary more strongly during peak hours.
Filters worth checking first
- Language and region, especially German, DACH or international communities.
- Whitelist status and minimum age rules.
- Voice system, including SaltyChat or alternative TeamSpeak setups.
- Player count, Discord activity and whether the server has recent reviews.
Server owners can submit their project at /server/submit. Players who are new to roleplay should start with the beginner guide before joining strict RP servers.
